The Alabama State Flower is the Camellia and is an excellent flower to show on a Coffee Mug. This beautiful flower actually came from the east.  Alabama’s original state flower was the Goldenrod, from 1927 to 1959. It was argued that the Goldenrod was a weed, and in 1959 the state legislator made the Camellias the new State Flower. We agree with the new choice it’s a beautiful flower.
